Niemiecki Automobilklub (ADAC) przeprowadził oryginalne testy dla samochodów z różnych kategorii i o różnych rodzajach zasilania. Celem było przejechanie jak najdłuższego odcinka z paliwem o wartości 10 euro. Z testu zwycięsko wyszedł Fiat Panda Panda, który przejechał 251 km, czyli dystans równy odległości pomiędzy Berlinem i Hanowerem. Jeśli weźmie się pod uwagę fakt, że właśnie mamy okres wakacyjny, samochód Fiata napędzany metanem może przejechać 1500 km za zaledwie 60 ? - to jedyny w swoim rodzaju rekord, udowadniający, że można oszczędnie podróżować samochodem, pomimo odczuwalnych wzrostów cen benzyny i oleju napędowego.

ADAC przeprowadził testy na prawie wszystkich znanych rodzajach samochodów: od małych dwumiejscowych po supersportowe. Niektóre poddały się już po 30 km. Organizatorzy testu ADAC przyznali palmę pierwszeństwa samochodom zasilanym gazem, wśród nich na pierwszym miejscu zaś pięciomiejscowy Fiat Panda Panda.
